WineFest has growing list of wineries
The Kentucky Derby Festival will make a splash starting tomorrow when it uncorks the second annual Old National Bank WineFest.
The number of participating wineries has increased to 10 from last year's six, giving participants a chance to sniff, swirl and sip a wider range of Kentucky's finest wines.
Last year's WineFest was such a success that every tasting session except the first one sold out, said Aimee Boyd, director of communications for the Kentucky Derby Festival. And even though there was no official dress code, some of the tasters turned out in Derby hats.
"We're thrilled to have even more Kentucky wineries participate in the event this year -- and they're offering more than 40 different wines to sample," Boyd said. "It's a great opportunity to showcase what's becoming Kentucky's own little Napa Valley."...for more of the story
